Nearly 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast were left experiencing outages on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms passed over the region, generating strong winds reaching 109km/h.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Broad Damage
Homeowners observed large ice chunks measuring up to 7 centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across the state had been hit with large hailstones.

Victoria's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, nearly one thousand residents in Victoria also faced power outages after the metropolitan area experienced its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations received over five hundred calls for help across the area, mostly for structural issues but also for downed trees and flooding.

At the height on Sunday, more than 28,000 energy customers in Victoria were lacking electricity.

Moist weather were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was predicted as the most rainy day, with persistent severe weather risk anticipated across multiple regions of both areas.
Health Warning
Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after historical occurrences where similar conditions led to major medical consequences in the state.
