Assassin's Creed Reveals Bizarre AoT Crossover for Holiday Season
In a bizarre collaboration that breaks usual expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Uncovered
According to the official statement, "A strange encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where rumors of prohibited rituals and fearsome transformations resonate through the darkness." The plot presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine group.
The questline focuses on "peculiar trials and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Metamorphoses
The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview concludes with a powerful moment showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Bonus Material
Players who finish the mission will acquire an unique katana alongside numerous items concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive implements
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Update
This update also adds the game's newest no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This playful mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe introduces a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

The series earlier featured a 2020 cross-promotional story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla unofficially included a quest that clearly referenced the popular series One-Punch Man.
